How to glue down floor transition strips.
You can attach the transition in one of two ways.
A seam binder is installed by simply positioning the strip over the seam then driving screws through pre dilled pilot holes in the strip to secure it to the subfloor in the gap between the floors.
Place the transition strip in the expansion joint and press down firmly.
Step 6 use a damp cloth to remove any excess glue.
If you are using liquid nails apply a bead of the liquid nails to the underside of the transition.
Step 7 place several large strips of painter s tape across the t molding to hold it down while the glue dries.
However if this happens to your floors read this blog to find out how to repair it.
Do not glue the lips to the floor.
Because it is attached to neither floor each floor can expand and contract without cracking the transition strip.

Mark the floor where the transition strip is to be located taking care to allow for any required expansion space as specified by the flooring manufacturer.
You can glue it to the floor with liquid nails or you could use the track that comes with it to attach it.
