Laminate flooring comes in a range of styles and formats such as tiles glue down strips and woodlike planks that are installed in a floating format on top of the subfloor.
Laminate flooring comes apart as easily as it goes together but the edges are fragile so you have to disassemble a floor carefully if you want to reuse the boards.
Individual pieces snap and lock together to prevent shifting.
When you want to replace laminate flooring or need to access the subfloor underneath carefully take up the interlocking pieces of laminate.
Sometimes called a floating floor the surface floats on a foam cushion on top of the subfloor.
If the laminate flooring planks are glued together it cannot be saved for reuse.
To do so clear the room and remove any molding such as baseboards and transition strips that is installed on top of the laminate flooring around the edges of the room.
