How to fix floor molding.
First remove all obstacles vacuum clean the area before applying the caulk and paint the skirting board mopboard floor molding or base molding.
Make sure the floor is completely dry before you begin the repairs.
If you see some cut a few braces from 4 to 6 in.
First hold the base molding against the wall after you cut it to length and look for gaps.
Caulking the gaps in trim joints and the gap between flooring baseboards improve water impermeability of the floor.
Sink all nails with a nail set.
Fill all nail holes in both shoe molding and baseboard molding with plastic wood and let dry.
Nail the shoe molding into place with 2 penny finishing nails driven through the molding into the floor.
Replace them one by one as needed.
Then apply construction adhesive at the top and bottom.
Pry up the boards starting at the wall until you get to the damaged ones.
Nail the floor trim to the studs and then tack the braces to the trim with 1 in brads.
It s better to apply too much than too little.
Wear safety glasses and use a putty knife to remove any molding or baseboards around the perimeter of the damaged area.
